I removed my CRT 32" Toshiba from it's TV cabinet while I was doing some flooring in my home. I forgot just how darn heavy and bulky these old school TVs can be. I decided at that moment that I would replace it with something more modern, and lighter. This 32" tv out of the box looked so much smaller, in height, than the previous one that I was concerned it was too small for my needs, it turns out it wasn't. The picture on the other hand, was absolutely brilliant in HD mode. Rich, vibrant colors that makes my bedroom Element HD TV look poor in comparison. Audio quality is pretty good, very clear. Not very good low frequency sound but very good nonetheless. No probs with the connections and a good intuitive menu. The only prob., and it's not really a prob, is running an audio cable to my surround sound audio system. It requires a single digital optical audio cable. Last time I tried one of those cables on a different system, I wasn't pleased with the audio quality (ie tinny sound) so we will see how this one sounds once connected.

Just bought this from Amazon...wanted to put it on an existing wall mount...missing screws needed to do so..were not in Panasonic box...do not know if oversight on their part, or intentional so you have to buy their brand? So, have not turned it on as of yet..

I purchased this set to get rid of a heavy tube HD set, but couldn't afford a high priced LED set. For the money, this set is an excellent value. I have DirecTv for tv with an HDMI input, and a regular DVD player with an HDMI "upconvert" feature. The picture is wonderful on both inputs. You can adjust the picture as you wish with the remote control menu.
Now for the minor flaws.
1) You do have to turn the volume way up. I thought at first it was because I have a noisy heat pump fan (I had just moved here when I got the set). But it's not a major issue for me, and I can use the stereo if need be. I notice it more on DVD's than DirecTv.
note: A reader in the comments section suggested turning off the "AI" feature. If you go into the AUDIO section on the remote menu, you will find several adjustments which helped the sound by 50% on my set.
2) The remote control is not easy to use. The sleep timer only gives you three choices: 30, 60, and 90 minutes. I prefer my old set that went in 10 minute increments up to 2 hours, but again, a minor issue. I normally use my DirecTv remote control to turn it on and off and adjust the sound.
3) It claims to have a feature that helps with motion scenes, but I notice some fast motion scenes are choppy, a problem that plauged earlier LCD sets. It only has 60hz refresh rate. Not a big deal for me.
Those are minor complaints and overall I'm satisfied with the set.

This is a fine television. Yes the audio seems a little low but I'm getting older so that maybe the problem with that. The picture is outstanding and the colors are beautiful. The value for the dollar speaks for itself on Panasonic TV's. I'm happy with this TV.

I got this tv at an amazing price - about $630 but actually ended up returning it... The picture was beautiful but I was disappointed in the sound. Like the other reviewer, I had to turn the volume all the way to the top to catch conversations. This may not be an issue if you have speakers - I didn't. I ended up spending quite a bit more and getting an LG. The picture is just as good, and the sound is a bit better. I don't have HD right now, so this review is based on my Comcast cable.

I am not much of a TV watcher, but the 15 year old Sony was outdated and my husband was bugging for more. I went to Consumer Reports for their ratings and ideas on what kind of set to get and plasma sounded right for us and the Panasonic was rated very highly. Took the plunge and we love it. Neither of us are real good at technology, but have, so far, been able to figure everything out, with some help from our cable company. Tv is beautiful, picture is clear as a bell, my only dissatifaction is the sound. I think we will have to get additional speakers. But I would recommend this Tv and the LG Blue Ray player we bought with it. No technical jargon here, just great picture and easy set-up.

This is by far the best television I have ever owned. The picture quality is second to none and the black levels are amazing.
The built in speakers are what you would expect, not that great. However with a television of this quality I think most people would be using an external sound system anyway.
There are 3 HDMI connectors, one of them is on left side of the TV, I would like to see at least one more on the rear of the TV.
The VIERA system is interesting and has potential. I have a Roku player that I download content from Netflix from. The VIERA system allows downloads from Amazon and You Tube.
All in all I recommend the G15 Televisions highly.

We got this model because of the audio out and the viera DSL link and are very pleased. It is worth the money and effort to get the G15 for those reasons. Viera will bring in movie streaming from Amazon for 3 bucks so competes with cable pay per view without the high cable charges which go on month after month even when you are not watching.

Like many if you, I have researched (a pompous term, is it not?) and procrastinated over the purchase of a flat screen. My first foray into the chromatic hornet's nest was a 32" Sharp LCD. This was a nice product (for which I submitted a fine, prose review); however, it was too small. With the advent of high resolution source material and HD (1080i &p), a large screen (50" or larger) is a fine addition even for a medium size room.
The first decision: Plasma or LCD? By the way: I am not dismissing rear projection. There are still some splendid sets out there. Indeed I have a 42" Mitsubishi that I am quite fond of. However, it is an older technology that may, in some cases, be more maintenance intensive.
Back to Plasma/LCD: In large screen formats, Plasma is the more mature technology. To be sure, LCD's have been utilized for years for computer screens; however, we are dealing with 15", 17", etc. In addition, many large screen LCD's (40" and up) are made in the same factory (names changed to protect the innocent). This is, I believe, more in the nature of trivia than something that is relevant to a purchase. It allows the egocentric among us to demonstrate his command of useless facts (c'est moi).
Consequently, for a number of reasons, Plasma's are less expensive, especially when you get to the 40" + sizes. This may change as LCD's drop in price; however, for now the difference is noticeable.
Enough of frugality, you say: get to the point. If you insist. I like Plasma. To my eye it is more natural and a pleasure to watch. I went through the usual routine:
-Take your own source material: DVD, Blu-ray, etc. If you are not going to watch Blu-ray, do not test it as such. You will be watching 1080p transmission, which is the highest possible quality on these sets. Even HD TV is "only" 1080i. Therefore, if you fall in love with a 1080p demo'd set at a dealer and you will watch 1080i or, more likely, 480 transmissions at home, a divorce will be forthcoming (from the TV set, not your spouse. Maybe.)
-Stores usually are much brighter than your home, on the order of noon day Sun vs. Twilight (not the teen flick, the lumens). Accordingly, the sets are on "Vivid" or another high color/contrast mode. However, take heart: most can be adjusted to your heart's content, in the privacy of your own dwelling. Thus, you may curse in private whereas you will be restrained in public. Seriously, it is not that difficult to find a happy medium (the smiling lady at the seance).
-One pragmatic point:if you buy a quality product ("buy quality and you will only cry once") you are going to be quite pleased, once you get it home. The side by side comparisons, which are psychologically necessary, are completely irrelevant once you are alone with your flat panel. Why? Because you have nothing to compare it to. The overall quality of most of the Plasma's and LCD's (Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, etc) is so good that differences, while not unimportant, recede into the subconscious within 10 seconds of start up. Does that mean that comparison shopping is worthless? Of course not, silly. Why do you think I am wasting your time writing this?
-As regards the Panasonic 50" G15: This is a splendid product with a magnificent picture. Glare is not a problem. Color adjustment was simple and speedy. I started with THX (a bit too dark for my taste), went to standard and upped contrast and brightness a bit. Your results may differ. However, do not be reticent to experiment. Also, do not panic: if all else fails, hit "restore default".
-A word on sound: no one should be complaining about the sound eminating from the set: if you are going to spend $1,000 or more on a TV, invest in a reasonably priced pair of speakers and an amp/integrated amp/receiver. You want Donald Duck to sound like himself; or, perhaps, you like Brad Pitt sounding like Donald? If the latter, keep the stock speakers.
In essence, this is a superb product that will give you years of pleasure. You will miss work and family outings for the NFL, Daytona 500, Indy and The Masters. National productivity will go down the tubes. However, it will be for a good cause.

We were originally going to purchase the G10, but when the G15 became the most affordable option, we jumped on the chance to join the high-def community. We were amazed at the picture quality of this device! We upgraded from a CRT TV, and were not aware of how far-behind in technology we were. I put a lot of research into what kind of TV to buy (LCD v. Plasma; LED are too pricey) and finally decided Plasma was the one for us: we watch mainly movies and play video games, and we have always darkened the room prior to "serous" watching. I have always thought that blacks are what make a picture, and having read that LCDs cannot achieve a true, deep black (without completely turning off), plasmas were the obvious choice. Panny has certainly done their research, and has developed a plasma TV without the issues of previous generations: the pixel orbiting and screen wash eliminate screen burn-in, the AR filter has reduced glare (we only have issues when light is directly on the screen, but it still delivers a stunning, glare-free picture when the blinds and curtains are open letting tons of sunlight into the room), and the 600 Hz subfield drive creates flawless screen movements without any drag--what more could we ask for?
The EXTRA benefits include:
-Energy-Star rating. Although this is always a priority to us for large appliances, I never really thought about applying to it to electronics. I was unaware of how power-hungry plasmas are, and am relieved that Panny has produced one that is Energy Star approved.
-an SD card reader on the left side (looking at the TV) to watch videos or pictures as a slide-show (although I did not think I would use this feature much, I am looking forward to displaying family photos this holiday season while family and guests are over, and it's fun to go snap a few dozen shots and pop the card from the camera directly into the TV to view them in stunning color on such a large screen!)
-Internet capabilities (the VIERA link still needs lots of work, but I am grateful that the TV has the capability of getting online which should makes firmware upgrades easy; watching youtube videos on the TV is a lot of fun)
-THX certification; although a little 'dark,' the image's colors are very realistic. I think we are used to watching more vivid colors, but after getting past the first initial "color shock," watching the rest of the movie becomes natural and easy on the eye.
-Inputs: I love being able to easily access the input screen while continuing to watch something on the screen (no "cycling"). The inputs' labels are customizable, so the options aren't HDMI 1,2,3 but instead PS3, XBox, BluRay Player, etc. One of the conveniences that are truly appreciated on this TV!
-The TV itself lends itself to being more than just a TV. I feel we have purchased a piece of advanced technology (at an AMAZING price from 6th Ave. electronics) than just another TV. For instance, it has synced with the other HDMI devices, and responds to any of them being turned on by automatically changing the input and picture-setting (to Game mode, which is also great!, it also makes the TV controller work with the other devices, too.
-We do not have a surround system yet, and I was worried about the sound quality of the TV (G10 reviews) but have been pleasantly surprised. No, it is not anything outstanding and a little tinny, but we can hear dialog and music and explosives just fine without adjusting the volume constantly. If this is going directly on the wall, I would stress the use of an alternative sound system (the speakers are on the back of the TV).
-Great viewing angles! I can even see what is on the screen when I walk into the room from the side entrance (unlike the old CRT or LCDs)
-It is also eye candy! The slim design and stylish base creates a gorgeous focal-point in the room, and the bevel fades away into the background which watching TV so it doesn't detract from the viewing experience.
Overall, we are VERY satisfied with this device!

I previously had a SHARP aquous 37" LCD that was getting a bit long in the tooth. I was initially hesitant about switching to plasma given image retention/burn-in issues, but the new Panasonics have gotten such great reviews (seriously, see hdguru to sound and vision) and the prices are so much more reasonable than comparably sized LCD/LED tv's that I had to give it a shot. No regrets here! Color saturation is better, blacks are really really black. I thought that THX might be too dark, but it's really not a problem. With the lights off, it's actually pretty bright. I was worried about certain movies not filling the screen and causing image retention issues after a couple hours, but seriously I'm not doing anything special to prevent it and there is absolutely no IR after hours of use. I also play a lot of videogames. Great color accuracy - it's like looking out a 50" window. I went to WorstBuy the other day and it does not seem as bright or as accurate as the other TV's, but trust me, just take it home and watch it.
PROS:
-Price for performance is outstanding
-Great color accuracy.
-Good brightness and contrast even in THX (despite what other people are saying)
-Really big!
-Deep black levels without loss of detail in the shadows (i.e. no dynamic contrast ratios - which are meaningless)
-Super thin. 2 inches mostly - same thickness as the V10 series.
-VieraCast - eh, whatever.
-No burn-in/IR
-Toslink audio output (but it only outputs 2 channels!). What's the point? Really hifi 2 channel sound?
CONS:
-Not blindingly bright (seriously, if you think this is too dark then you probably have cataracts or live on the sun)
-Not the most energy efficient thing around
-Sorta heavy, but it is 50 inches of TV
-Doesn't have 4 HDMI ports
-The speakers are crap
-Dual pane construction (not as sexy as the single pane Z/V series)
-There is very slight phosphor lag (really really slight)
-Very slight occasional green preference, but generally not a problem
-Besides blu-ray there aren't very many sources that output full 1080p resolution. Not really the TV's fault.

This is my first HDTV so I always wanted to buy the best in the market. I've read lot of reviews and finally settled for this TV. To my surprise this exceeds all my expectations. I must say that this piece is a visual treat, the colors are very natural and crisp. Now I feel so happy to wait so loooong before I settle on this beauty. I've not explored all the options so can not comment how the viera cast, THX etc works.

I've owned the G15 for a few weeks. Was VERY excited to get it but now that it's actually on the wall? Eh. Other reviewers rave about the colors but I just don't see it. I think the THX setting is too dark for average viewing (great for Batman Returns and other 'dark' movies but not great for general HD television viewing). I compare this to my friend's Samsung LN52a750 and I think their set is clearly superior. Their blacks match up to the G15's blacks but their screen is brighter and their colors are truer than mine. I have a week and half to decide to return it and I just might. I write this review because all the research pointed to the G15 being a monster set for the price and I guess it comes down to plasma and LCD being VERY different viewing experiences. I was coming from a Sony Wega (tubed) set (gorgeous pic but only a 34" screen and the set is huge in the room) and didn't go by store displays because they are all on vivid. I went by research. Everything pointed to plasma being a superior picture but I don't see it. I wish I did. I tried out of the box settings, I tried CNET calibration settings - none 'wow' me. Point being: check out sets of all your friends, relatives and neighbors to see what you like best.

I bought this wall mount because it was the cheapest and most solid looking mount I could find. I used it to mount my 42inch Samsung Plasma. It takes two people and some tools to get this thing setup but once the work is done you will be satisfied. It looks great, feels solid, and it allows you to move your tv up, down, left, right, forwards, and backwards. I wish it could tilt up and down a few extra degrees but otherwise its a great mount. Bottom line, best mount you can find for the price for flat tv's 40inch and up.

This wall mount is perfect. I mounted my 42" LG TV that weighs 75 Lbs. The mount went up in 30 minutes using only the hardware included. The mount is secure and I feel more than safe with my $1200 TV on it. I saved a lot of money by going with this mount and you should do the same!!!

As others have said, this thing is most definitely heavy. It's possible to take the mount apart so that you can only deal with the wall plate but since I had my roommate help me, I didn't bother with that.
Mounting this was a nightmare but only because my stud finder is crap. I borrowed two other stud finders and they all gave me different readings- it really got frustrating. Also, my apartment doesn't have the standard 16 inch or 24 inch gap between studs. The two studs I eventually found were 14 inches center to center. Luckily the wall mount has multiple slots for the bolts. Once I had the holes drilled, the rest was a breeze.
Others have complained about the instructions but I didn't see a big issue there- the diagrams show pretty much everything you need to do.
I used 2 levels and found that TV-side plate was off by a good 10-15 degrees. Luckily, the designers put 5 hex screws that allow you to adjust the tilt.
Unfortunately due the stud issues I was not able to mount this in the center of my wall. But I was able to move the arms to right and hang the TV right of center on the mount- those combined centered it. Now, I'm hanging a 46 inch LCD HDTV on it and have noticed no sagging.
The mount is very stiff, hard to move. But I see this as a plus since it makes it seem more sturdy.

I am very pleased with this product. I ordered two to hang matching Phillips 47' LCD's next to each other in our living room. They arrived in 5-7 days and were in perfect condition, nothing damaged or missing. They each weight about 30-35 lbs and have been holding up my 45 lbs TV's with no problems for a couple weeks now.
I got the articulated mounts so we would have the options they give. Only one of them is pulled a couple inches out and angled. I haven't noticed any sagging or other problems. We haven't been pulling it far from the wall, so I haven't tested them in that fashion.
They were pretty simple to put up. All you need is a drill, drill bits and a ratchting wrench set or an old style wrench set it you like working harder and screw drivers. If you have the right size attachment for you drill, you could fly through it. I put the mounts up myself, but had my wife help me put the TV's on the mount just to be safe. Also, it has a level on the item, but I still used my own. I don't trust those tiny levels.
The mounts were a lot cheaper than those I saw at Sam's Club ($160) and Best Buy, which were even more and went up to 400-500 each.
I was a hard choice for me between the Cheetah mount that is similar to this one, but I think I made the right one.

When it arrived, i right away noticed the thing is huge and heavy, which doesn't make it too easy to hang it up by yourself. I got it up ok and i love it except for some quirks.
- When completely collapsed, the attachment to the TV is not in the middle of the mount.
- Hanging your tv on the mount is piece of cake but if its not EXACTLY in the middle of the mount, it tilts sideways and cannot be solved by tightening bolts.
- to secure your TV from sliding on the mount, it uses two screws. They are a PAIN to screw in.
- The whole thing is pretty heavy and you have to extend the arm to screw the thing into the wall. Requires at least 2 people, 3 preferred.

I've had this set for almost one month now and, so far, I have been very happy with my decision. I think the picture quality is amazing. I haven't pushed the sound much because I generally route through my surround so I can't comment too much on that. The set up is easy. I've sampled HDTV, standard tv, Blu-ray and video games and they've all been pretty awesome. My only complaint with the set up is that there's only 3 HDMI ports. I've got Blu-ray surround, HDTV cable box, Wii, Xbox and PS3 all hooked up to this set currently. Now Wii isn't HD so that wasn't an issue going through component but I had to choose between Xbox and PS3 as I chose to use the other 2 HDMI's for the cable and the Blu-ray. I ended up putting the Playstation through the third and the Xbox through component cables only because I'm playing PS3 more right now. Also, I'm not techie enough to be able to see the difference between HDMI and good component cables so not a huge deal to me. If you are, this may be an issue if you're hooking up a lot of stuff.
The price was great, the set up was easy and the quality so far is awesome. I would recommend this if you're in the market. I was debating between this and the 65 inch and I'm actually happy I stayed at 58. This size is perfect. (I view from about 10 feet)
The only other thing I could whine about is the stand. It's that shiny, glossy type of stand that shows every speck of dust so you'll want to have a stock of shams around. If you're mounting it, no big whoop.
I primarily watch sports and action movies as well as play high frame rate games (COD MW2 right now) and there have been no issues with transitions and the clarity is amazing. If I'm going to watch the Lions get their tails kicked each and every week, I may as well see it like I'm there.

I did a TON of research looking for the right TV, and after careful consideration I picked up the S1 58" Viera Plasma by Panasonic. Almost a month later and I am still thrilled to own it.
First of all, let me give you a little background (hopefully you gauge my rating credibiltiy here). I watch a lot of sports, love a good action movie (usually a love story if my wife is also watching) and I am an active gamer with my PS3. When I did my research, I wanted a TV that was great in every category, not just movies, not just gaming, etc.
The Panasonic S1 provides an amazing picture quality. The contrast is incredible, the color is everything you could ask for, and even the glare is minimal for a plasma. One other HUGE thing to look for, the Panasonic plasma scored superbly on -the Blacks. I was watching a show the other night and noticed the blacks were SO dark that I could not tell the difference between the border of the TV and black in the picture of the show. This is a huge advange over LCDs, and especially true on this TV.
Setup was very easy. There are so many HDMI inputs on the back of this you will want to go buy more stuff! There is only one digital optical audio out, so you may want to invest in a good audio receiver if you dont have one.
The TV is VERY HEAVY. I bought a decent wall mount on amazon for $25 bucks, works great. Just make sure you use the wall studs, and have at least 3 strong men help you lift the TV.
All said and done, I am extremely happy with this TV. I highly recommend it.

I use "awesome" in this review since that is how I feel about this purchase, awesome. O.k. So I did my research and when the promotion came up (Panasonic blu ray player and television combo deal) I waited till the last day and jumped on it. Out the door it was 1661 as I bought a couple of HDMI cables (neither the tv or the blu ray player includes HDMI cables).
CEVA delivery was acceptable. I ordered on 10/30, it shipped 11/2 from Texas, and was at my house in Southern California 11/6. Couple of glitches although nothing too big considering this has been the most expensive purchase I have made via Amazon to date. The tracking number for CEVA that Amazon provided was not accurate, it needed an "a" at the start of it. I had to call CEVA to get tracking information. CEVA was late by an hour and I had to call them after they were 15 minutes passed the time. The tv was not unpacked or put on the stand by CEVA. The box looked in good shape and I was in a hurry so frankly I did not ask as I had to leave. I has read that with CEVA not to expect the tracking to work, and to be proactive and call them. This seemed to work and the CSR's were helpful when called.
The television appears flawless. I had almost done too much research and was getting nervous after reading about color (green tints) and lack of deep black. Neither are any kind of issue at all on my television. The factory settungs look INCREDIBLE and I just viewed Master and Commander blu Ray and it felt like BEING there. The television has way more settings and inputs for cables then I could ever use.
The speakers are o.k., not an issue as I have a decent older Sony receiver with an optical in. The sound through the Sony via the Panasonic BD80 Blu Ray is awesome. The speakers in the tv would be acceptable for watching the news in the morning. In the end if you are purchasing a 58" HDTV with Blu Ray you are not going to use the television built in speakers anyway, so I think it's a nice extra that this beast even has built in speakers.
As far as LCD vs Plasma, well like I mentioned I did my research. First hand my 28" 1080p Hann-G looks great playing DVD's or iTunes HD rentals. I like the picture on the plasma better as I feel it's easier on my eyes, more "softer" for lack of a better word, really more like a cinema screen. Other's prefer the LCD and honestly I do acknowledge it's an apples vs oranges argument. Both work great.
What else? At this point I think it would be silly to pay for pro calibration or even a calibration disc. I just do not see how the picture could improve. As part of my research I went to Best Buy and Costco to view this set. It looked sub par compared to the other sets. That of course made me VERY nervous. I had read that the television would be set in "display" mode for the store (when you first plug it in and turn it on the easy to navigate setup welcome message pops up the first direction as "Is this for home or a store display?") so I knew that the television might not be at it's best or how it would look at home. My television's picture appears much superior to its twins at the brick and mortar. Reviews also are almost all glowing and with the Amazon promotion I just decided to go for it.
Other things...Another thing to keep in mind is anytime you put a 58" piece of glass (LCD, Plasma, CRT, etc) you just are going to have reflection. I have mine to the side of a large wall made of glass. So it's a mirror when there is light and no picture on the set, or it's a night sceen on the set and I had the drapes open in daylight. The brighter sceens have minimal reflection. IMHO the LCD sets I viewed in the brick and mortars had reflection also.
I would do this purchase over again in a heart beat. After a few weeks I'll post an update.

I gave hard consideration to buying Samsung's 58 inch B650 but couldn't pass Amazon's deal on the Panasonic's 58S-1 with the Blu-ray. I wound up paying $1475 for the TV which is $200 cheaper than what I paid for my 50 inch Samsung two years ago. While it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that others have, it has everthing that I will use consistently. The picture is great and sound is not an issue as I'm hooking it up to an A/V Receiver. For the $$ I saved, I can buy a good mount and some HDMI cables. Delivery for this monster was within a week.

We upgraded from a 9 year old Sony rear projection tv hdtv. Wow, picture quality is amazing!!! I have a hdmi connection with DirectTV and the picture is soooo much clearer. Got the tv delivered from Amazon for $[...] total so, it is a great value.

This HDTV is the only one that I could find anywhere that would fit into my 36 inch space. All other units were about a half inch too big, so this is the only one I could have bought. However, the reviews on this set were very good, so I bought with confidence and was rewarded with a great HDTV. The set up was simple, the installation simple the HDMI reception is fantastic and the high speed motion blur practically non-existant.
I could happily recommend this TV to anyone. The service from Amazon was great as well. The set came from the west coast and arrived the same day as the HDMI cables I purchased, both within the week of free shipping!

I am totally happy with the Panasonic LCD TV. The Amazon price is very competitive, and I received the TV without delay. I chose to go to the freight carrier to personally pick it up, however I could have waited another day for delivery to my home.
I am very familiar with Panasonic and know that they are a reliable manufacturer and deliver excellent products. This TV is no exception, the hook up is simple, however I recommend purchasing an HDMI cable since it does not come with one. You do not need an expensive cable at all, as the inexpensive HDMI cables work fine.
I use DirecTV, and with the TV connected to my satellite receiver with an HDMI cable, I receive an excellent digital picture on all channels without subscribing to the HD service.
You will need to check your existing satellite receiver to be sure that it has an HDMI port, otherwise you should upgrade to a newer satellite receiver with an HDMI port. Without the HDMI hookup, you will only receive analog signals and not the clear, digital signals that will make your TV viewing much more pleasurable.
Unless you are a hardcore TV fanatic, you'll be delighted with the Panasonic LCD 1080p 120hz g series TV hooked up with just an HDMI cable to your satellite receiver. The satellite receiver does not have to be an HD compatible receiver, it just needs to have an HDMI port.
I highly recommend this product and did quite alot of research prior to my purchase. You will not be disappointed with Panasonic or Amazon.com.

Waited for 1 month of use prior to providing a review. One month in and I couldn't be more pleased. Due to space restricitons (35.5" opening), I had to go with a 37". Fits perfectly. Picture looks great! Definitely don't want to settle for SD feed. If you go this direction, maximize your purchase w/ going HD. If sound quality is your thing, you will want to add a home theatre system. TV sound system is OK, but it doesn't "pop" like the home theatre systems. More than pleased overall. And one month in, I'd buy a Panasonic again.

Pros:
Set up & Inputs. Easy hook up. So far I'm only using the 2 HDMI's in the back: one for the cable box the other one for a PS-3 Slim. Audio goes to the receiver via optical out.
Picture Quality. Outstanding. Thanks to the 120Hz and the 20,000:1 contrast ratio the picture is crisp,
renders beautiful colors and deep blacks (for an LCD)
Small frame. At 35.2" in width it meant I didn't have to buy new furniture
Only con:
Audio Quality. Speakers are adequate, but, I'm using my receiver so it doesn't matter.
