I bought this as a second TV to be used only for gaming. Previously tried several LCD TVs and, IMHO, LCDs the way they are now are simply unacceptable for gaming - too much motion blur.



So far tried it with my PS3 and Xbox 360 - Street Fighter 4 is a joy to play on this TV. Also, I have my PS2 hooked up to it as well and the TV does an excellent job at processing and displaying the (crappy) 480i output of the PS2. I tried several LCD TVs with my PS2 and the results were uniformly awful with huge ugly interlacing artifacts. This TV has them a little, but you really have to look very close to see them and picky as I am, I do not notice them when playing a game.



Overall if you are looking for a gaming TV/monitor, this is the set to get...well, any Panasonic plasma, really.

My TV arrived last week and I bought it from Amazon. First, buying from Amazon is the way to go if you can't find the same price at your local Best Buy or electronics store. Shipping is guaranteed, and it came just 3 business days after I purchased from the distributor. I also got my HD service connected the day it came, so I got to try out the HD immediately.



I had been looking at TV's for over a month, daily, spending hours a week researching LCD v Plasma, different brand names, product lines, and prices. First, figure out LCD v Plasma. Lighting, primary uses, and preference ultimatley determine what you want. Plasma was an easy choice for me as Sports & movies (with my blue ray player) are the primary purposes of my TV and my room is in the basement with no outside sunlight coming in, so glare isn't an issue with my plasma.



This TV is solid. I bought $10, HDMI (1.3 category 2) cables and they produce an excellent picture. Standard protocol for plasmas is to "break them in" to prevent burn-in, which I am doing. They recommend keeping the picture settings on "standard" regular mode for the first 80-100 hours. I have tried turning it up to complete brightness and it looks amazing, but I will continue to break it in on the standard settings for 2-3 weeks. Don't worry about "burn-in" as many store experts I talked said this is a non-issue with plasmas nowadays and Panasonic says these tv's are good for 80-100k hours of viewing which is like 30 years running all the time.



I watched Iron-Man, on my blue ray PS3 player with HDMI Cables, and the picture was indeed stunning. So worth it. I bought this TV for $900 including shipping and if you get it for that or cheaper it is a steal. The TV has a great sleak design, super easy to assemble the stand base, and is nice and light (like 70 lbs).



I don't think you'll go wrong with LCD at all from what I saw of them, but for the movie buff who loves to dim the lights and watch a stunning picture, or the NFL fan who loves a great picture in HD of a good game, this is the TV you want. For the price, you won't find a better quality branded TV than this one. The HD picture I get from my satellite provider is great, and once I can turn up the picture to maximum capabilities I think the TV will be unreal. I've heard cables can have a huge difference, but from what I've read and tested personally, the HDMI cable 1.3 category 2 is just fine and processes the 1080p signal for blue ray and HDTV perfectly. If you buy this TV you will be happy, mark my words.

I've had this set for nearly a year now and i could'nt be more happy with it. The picture quality is outstanding, looks great mounted on my wall, and the price was right. I originally bought a Samsung, 52 inch, 850 series lcd tv which had a very bad clouding issue and also had very weak speakers. I returned it to Amazon and chose this plasma set instead. I tell ya, for those who say plasma tv's are not the way to go anymore are mistaken. The black level's on plasma's are superior to lcd tv's, and in my opinion, they have more of a realistic picture. I am totally satisfied with this tv and im glad i made with switch to plasma. I give it 5 stars.

I read almost all 99 of the reviews on this TV while trying to decide on what to get. I ended up with this 58 in plasma and I couldn't be happier. Not only is the TV great right out of the box, but the box itself was engineered great and this TV is easy to unpack and set up.

I have only had this for 1 week, but it is perfect. Great picture, great sound, plenty of inputs, you will like this TV.

I've had this TV for some time now, so this review is based on some experience. First, I'm still extemely satisified with the TV. Everything is crisp, colors pop without being too fake. I set my settings according to the C-Net review and it's great. I use an OPPO DVD player for upscaling my regular DVDs since nothing else is as good and every review I ever read uses the OPPO as their benchmark for upscaling (for good reason). Takes two people to hang on the wall, but you don't have to be musclemen to do it - it's actually pretty light, just too big for one person to grab hold of.



Bought from the Amazon shop (I personally have had issues ordering electronics from other shops outside the official Amazon shop) and it was delivered white glove. they took it out, set it up, ensured it worked, etc, etc. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this set to anyone. Since the Pioneer Elite Kuro is no longer being manufactured, this is now the TOP in it's field. BTW, just my take, I don't really see any difference between this set and the Kuro except about $3000. :)

In the old days when you paid a premium for electronic up-grades, your quality increased.

(for example: a diamond stylus on a Panasonic turntable eliminated all hissing; a big Panasonic reel-to-reel tape player out-performed cassette and 8-track tape-players).



Today this is no longer the case:

HD and LCD big screen TVs are steps down in quality!



All picture formats are rotten:

The "4:3" ratio reduces the wide screen display to normal width leaving 1/4 of the sides blank.

"Zoom" cuts off the peripheries -- the tops of heads--and sport box scores.

"Full" squishes everyone fat, squatty and short.

"Just" blows everybody in all directions--everything is stretched out of proportion.



If I want a normal view I go to the bedroom and watch my old Panasonic.



Digital High Definition sound quality has taken a hit, too.

Digital sound breaks up regularly (and I've got cable). Try to listen to classical music on PBS--like "Live at Lincoln Center" and during the quiet passages the digits break and interrupt the whole piece.



I'm a loyal Panasonic buyer.

But within a year I've lost audio on 4 channels, including ABC.



This whole (forced) move to HD is a real bummer.



Maybe the next technological "improvement" will be BH ("Black Hole" TV where the consumer and all his/her money is sucked in and disintegrated.)

In October, I purchased a Panasonic Viera TH-42PZ85U Plasma Television from Amazon. One of the caveats about owning an HDTV is that it requires quite a bit of time to tweak picture settings in order to ensure that your TV is giving you the best possible picture. In the proceeding months, I've fiddled with the various settings, like color, contrast, brightness, and even used a THX calibration disc and blue filter glasses in order to calibrate my set for optimal viewing from all of my sources (FiOS, DVD, PS3/Blu-Ray, DVR, Xbox). Overall, I've been quite happy with my Panny.



However, in recent months, I've noticed a very disturbing and annoying trend occuring in my TV: phosphor trails. These are green or blue trails that are left behind a moving object in a high contrast scenario. It occurs, as I understand it, because plasma pixels cannot shift directly from black to white, or vice versa. They have a brief green or blue phase in between. An example of this might be a hockey game that has players with dark jerseys on a white ice background. This scenario is plagued by phosphor trails on my TV. The players leave streaks as they move across the rink. I love hockey, and this is a major issue for me. Another example might be a movie or TV show where a person with light skin is moving through a dark room. This scenario is even worse for me. Light objects on dark background leave horrible green trails and are physically taxing on my eyes. Video games often have high contrast scenarios like this, and this effect is present in many that I own.



Unfortunately, I don't have a video camera capable of accurately depicting this phenomenon. On the cheap point-n-shoot I have, the effect is far worse than it appears in person. Nevertheless, I'm very close to selling my TV, cutting my losses and getting a Samsung LN46A650 LCD. I know that I may just be trading one issue for another, as LCD's have problems of their own, but I've just about had it. If a representative from Panasonic or Amazon is reading this, please contact me, as I would love to remedy this somehow.

I have 2 larger plasmas and this is my first LCD Flat Panel. The Panasonic TC-32LX14 has all the connections you could need for watching movies & TV, playing games or viewing photos in a great looking, lightweight package. I bought this one to replace a CRT in the bedroom. I would have liked to go bigger (due to a 10-11 ft viewing distance), but for the price this was too good to pass on ($399 at Costco and others). And in actuality this 32-inch works just fine for a bedroom TV. Plus it's lightweight and easy to hang on the wall.



One of my other flat panels is also a Panasonic and the form and function is very similar. The Menus are easy to navigate and the Tuner works great for picking up cable broadcasts (although the channel numbering system is unfamiliar). The remote is clean, simple and easy to use. The picture is great with gaming systems and the cable TV picture straight from the jack is good in standard and great in digital. Some mentioned the sound being an issue. I can attest that it's not up to concert hall sound, but it's definitely loud enough. And if you have a surround sound system then you're golden. Panasonic makes great and reliable products so if you're looking for a a great value in flat panels definitely check this one out.

The Panasonic TC-32LX14 seems to be equivalent to the Panasonic VIERA X1 Series TC-L32X1 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV1, the only difference being that the TC-L323X1 includes an iPod dock. The TC-L32X1 is selling at a big box discounter store for $349 as I write this. That would make the TC-L32X1 a better value than the TC-32LX14 that I am reviewing here. I paid $398 for the TC-32XL14 at the same big box discounter that I've already mentioned and will be returning this for the better value TC-L32X1. Confused yet? I hope not but I did call Panasonic to verify that the sets are the same with the exception of the iPod dock included with the TC-L32X1.



I spent the better part of two days comparing LCD sets, both 720p and 1080p. The distance from the flatscreen to the sitting area is only 6-7' so I choose a 32" LCD as the size I wanted to focus on. However I also looked at a couple 37" and 40" flatscreens, 720p and 1080p.



After looking and looking, comparing, taking notes, doing research online, reading reviews here on Amazon and elsewhere, I decided on getting the Panasonic TC-32LX14. The quality of the picture just cannot be beat, especially considering the price (and don't forget, the price is even better on t he TC-L32X1 plus that one includes the iPod dock). Compared to a 40" 1080p Toshiba Toshiba 40RV525R 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV that was selling for $578 at BJ's, the Panasonic blew it out of the water with picture quality even though it was "only" 720p.



I also like that the Panasonic had 3 HDMI connections, plus an SD card slot for viewing photos. I put about 75 photos taken from my Canon SD600 elph and was amazed at the quality of the photos displayed on the flatscreen. Just beautiful.



I will agree with other reviewers that the sound is probably the weakest aspect of this TV. But it's not a deal breaker.... for me anyway. I wish it were a bit better, with some improved bass and maybe a little more oomph to the sound, but you can't get everything in a TV this inexpensive. When you consider the picture quality, other features of the set and then add in the sound quality, this is still a terrific bargain in my opinion.



The remote control worked well, the menu system is easy to navigate. Some of the features may not be immediately, or ever, something you would use, such as the Viera Link, which only works with compatible components.



But all in all, this is one heck of a LCD TV... excellent picture quality, decent price and a brand name that you can have some trust in. Compared to the second and third tier LCD TV makers like Vizio, I feel this is a far better value and offers much better overall quality.



Pros:

-Excellent picture quality considering the price

-Good build quality

-Attractive



Cons:

-Sound is a little weak and lacks any real bass or punch.



So to reiterate, you should consider getting the Panasonic VIERA X1 Series TC-L32X1 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV because it is the same set as this one but with the addition of an iPod dock and in my case, it was $50 less. I am just thrilled with my purchase and am thinking of getting another one (the TC-L32X1 that is) for the bedroom.
